A recent Georgia Department of Labor report indicates Medical Assistants, Medical Information Clerks, Receptionists, Computer Support Specialists, Customer Service Representatives, and General Office Clerks are amongst the occupations with the most annual openings within the highest demand industries.
The Occupational Outlook Handbook indicates:
- Employment of receptionists and information clerks is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations through 2014.
- Employment of computer support specialists is expected to increase faster than the average for all occupations through 2014.
- Fast growth is expected for workers in occupations concentrated outside the inpatient hospital sector, such as medical assistants and home health aides.
- Health care workers at all levels of education and training will continue to be in demand. In many cases, it may be easier for jobseekers with health-specific training to obtain jobs and advance in their careers. Specialized clinical training is a requirement for many jobs in health care and is an asset even for many administrative jobs that do not specifically require it.
